“The question I hear most often is why did you decide to write a book?

That’s easy – I got up off of my BIG FAT excuses and made my dream a reality.”

Shelley was born and raised in Southern California .  She has one younger sister named Margie.  Shelley grew up and went to school in the same city that former President Richard Nixon was born in.

"I'm so proud of my little sister! She just graduated and is now working in her field of Geology - no office jobs for her! Our family's little princess grew up to be a scientist. As a Geotechnical Geologist, she makes sure the ground is safe before things are built on it (no more houses sliding off into the Pacific Ocean, no buildings on earthquake faults, and tons of other cool stuff). Way to go sis! You're an inspiration to me. I hope you will always continue to follow your dreams! Fate made us sisters, but love made us friends! I love you little sis."

Married in Joshua Tree National Park, Dan and Shelley continue to explore new places together.  Whether scuba diving in Catalina, horseback riding in Mexico , whitewater rafting the American River , hiking in Canada or discussing the latest news on CNN over reheated leftovers, these two are definitely soul mates and will be together forever.

“The secret to our happy marriage is great communication.  We have difficult times too, just like everybody: opposite work schedules, puppy accidents on the carpet, deaths in the family, car accidents, job layoffs, a lost TV remote, or simply wanting Italian verses Chinese food for dinner.  Personally, I just try to approach every situation as a team effort.  There is no score chart at my house or in my mind keeping track of who got what. We've been known to order takeout from both Chinese and Italian in order to please both of us.

I remember seeing a couple once where the husband’s eyes rolled when his wife talked to him.  My goal in marriage is to NEVER have Dan roll his eyes when I talk to him. Although being silly, goofing around, and having tickle wars is an entirely different story."

Currently working full time as a Staff Accountant in the day while completing her undergraduate degree at California State University Fullerton during the evenings, Shelley writes the K9 Crew series in her “spare time.”

Full of energy with a zest for life, it is never dull with her around.  Shelley always has a smile for everyone she meets.

Thanks to my new critiquing partner Kevin.  I didn't realize I was comma-phobic (fear of commas).  His book stitches is great.  I recommend everyone check it out!

Jake, what an inspiration!  I think you don’t play fetch, just to watch me go get the ball.  So thanks for training me!  Without you, I wouldn’t have started walking and lost those 30 pounds.  My secret to losing weight?  Walking my puppies on a consistent basis.

Jewel, I will throw the ball again for you to fetch. If we got you a machine that just threw the ball for you, would you miss me? I think you would since you jump up and snuggle on my feet when you think I'm asleep. I also want to say thanks for the cold wet nose every morning - it works better than my alarm clock.
